- 1. DRESS HEAD TO TOE! - Just as your smile comes through over the phone, having a complete outfit will affect how you present yourself on-camera! No flip-flops, or yoga pants on bottom, just because you're only focused on the "top half".
- 2. PLAN AHEAD - Because you're investing in yourself and your photographs for marketing, take the time to plan ahead to have your nails done, root touch-ups as needed, choose your accessories, and all the little details.
- 3. THE EYES HAVE IT! - The eyes truly are the window to the soul, and you want to have excellent eye contact in your image. Professional makeup can dramatically enhance your eyes, and make your image even more captivating.
- 4. STRIKE A POSE - Spend a little time, and find poses that you like and that feel natural to you. A good photographer knows how to pose you, and to enhance your best features. But if you have a pose that "feels like you" be sure to include that. When you feel comfortable, you'll appear more natural and relaxed in your final images.
- 5. CHOOSE YOUR COLORS WISELY - As a rule, jewel-tones work great. If you're having head shots for business, think about incorporating your brand colors into your wardrobe for your portrait session.
